We need a head count for the meeting however we have been having some issues with gmailand we want to make sure our members are receiving the email updates from us. Also, one of our members emails was apparently hacked and please if you see an email that may look like it came from us and has a zip file, do not open it.

Also, Pam, our webmaster, posts all our emails on our Website. If by chance you do not hear from us for a while, check on the website to see if an email notice was sent.

We would like to inform all members of the Annual Point Lookout Memorial sponsored by the local Capt. Vincent Camilar Camp SCV will take place Saturday Oct. 10th at 11:00am. This year the Annual Point Lookout Service will take place at Confederate Memorial Park instead of at the Confederate Cemetery. The VA will not allow any ceremonies because of the coronavirus. You will still be allowed to visit and pay your respects at the Confederate Cemetery next door. We will be practicing social distancing and please bring a mask to use when needed. PLEASE: for the safety of everyone Do Not circulate the program or mention the event on Social Media etc. The local Sheriff office has asked us to keep the ceremony quiet. If word gets around or is found posted on social media we may have to cancel the event.

We will also be holding the Annual Descendants of Point Lookout Prisoners of War and Friends of Confederate Memorial Park Inc. meeting after the Service under the Pavilion at CMP. We will be serving a boxed lunch this year after the Service. We will be at CMP Oct. 7 in the afternoon. All are welcome to Camp out in tents or Self Contained RV on the grounds of Confederate Memorial Park.
